Help, Inc. was incorporated in 1971 as a 501(c)3 organization. The main purpose has always been to provide quality, confidential and anonymous telephone crisis intervention services primarily to the residents of Shasta County. We have been a contract provider for Shasta County Community Mental Health since 1986. The main phone at mental Health rolls over to Helpline after 5:00 p.m. each weekday, and 24 hours a day on weekends and holidays. We pride ourselves in providing these services. The telephones at Shasta County Alcohol and Drug Program roll-over on the same schedule. We receive 13000-16000 calls a year at Helpline, about 5% are related to suicide. All of our crisis intervention counselors are highly trained volunteers. They are there to answer the calls 24 hours a day and are very dedicated individuals.

Help, Inc. has been a United Way member agency since 1974 and we appreciate their support and acknowledgement that we provide a valuable service to our community.
